Voice of the Tabernacle Multi Service Center (VTMC), is a 501 (c)(3) faith-based non-profit organization that uses love, faith and culture based support to heal Boston’s Haitian refugee and immigrant community. Founded in 2001 by Rev. Nicolas Homicil; VTMC is not just a place for spiritual support, but also relevant social services for Boston’s most vulnerable Haitians. The VTMC’s mission is: “To provide culturally responsive services and growth opportunities for underserved Haitian immigrants and refugees”. VTMC services reach over 5000 people each year in the Mattapan, Dorchester and Hyde Park areas with food, housing, medication, spiritual counseling, youth services, crisis intervention, immigration support and advocacy.
Rev. Nicolas Homicil, Founder & Executive Director – Rev. Homicil oversees all program implementation and operational functions of the service center, supervision of staff members and volunteers, and financial reporting. Rev. Homicil works with staff and volunteers coordinators to ensure that services are being delivered effectively and that relevant partnerships are being built and maintained in order to enhance services. With nearly 30 years of experience working with the Haitian community, Rev. Homicil is a known and respected community leader.
